• Access to the abbey is not allowed with suitcases or large hiking bags. Small bags (smaller than cabin size) are accepted.

• Please note that the attraction may be crowded, expect a considerable wait time.

• Please note that there is free admission during the following days: European Heritage Days on the third weekend of Sep, and every first Sunday of the month from Nov to Mar.

• Entry is free for anyone under the age of 18 years, and for European Union nationals or non-EU residents in France aged between 18 and 25 years (an ID is necessary).

• Entry is free for disabled guests with an accompanying adult, jobseekers (on presentation of a certificate less than 6 months old), and holders of a valid education pass.

• Closed space: Terrace & Dining Leaping Gaultier (Model Room).

• Wear comfortable shoes as there is plenty of walking involved.

• In the winter, it is recommended to wear warm clothing.

• Folded strollers are allowed inside the monument.

Getting There

By Car

• From Paris: Catch the A13 in the direction of Caen, and take the A84 exit Mont-Saint-Michel (approx. 3 hours)

• From Saint-Malo: Exit 2 via D155 Pontorson on the coast road (approx. 1 hour)

• From Caen: Exit 8 via RN175 Rennes to the D43 Le Mont Saint-Michel (approx. 1 hour)

By Train

• Catch the TGV from Paris Montparnasse to Rennes or Dol de Bretagne

• Then, get on a coach from Rennes or Dol de Bretagne to Mont-Saint-Michel
