Everything went smoothly from start to end. We were a little nervous about finding our guide and getting in because it was our first time doing a group tour for a museum. (There were 100's of people waiting in line) But the tour guides were at the meeting poing with flags and t-shirts (impossible to miss), they were very promt and kept the group together at all times. The way they told the story really made us feel the history of the place and enjoy the experience way more as opposed to walking through the gallery by ourselves. Highly recommended!!!

The exhibition was very impresive and relevant. Worth visiting as long as you get the skip-the-line tickets. Otherwise. you'll spend a couple hours in line waiting.

Even though we had skip the lines. We still had to wait in like for almost an hour past our booking time. Ticket collection is not well signed

The exhibit was the focus of our visit and went very well. The guide made our wait in line minimal so good. Would suggest a more visible sign in the staging area to minimize confusion about being in the right place.

Located at the intersection of two ancient monasteries, the Accademia is known for housing Michelangelo’s greatest works along with other works from renowned artists. Explore the various zones and take in the creative artistic expression that radiates through the halls filled with art.

Museum halls you shouldn't miss

The first hall once you enter the gallery, is the Hall of the Colossus, which houses the stunning marble sculpture of ‘Rape of the Sabines’ by Giambologna. The hall also features paintings by Botticelli, Paolo Uccello, Perugino and many more artists. The Hall of the Prisoners, a special memoir dedicated to the unfinished works of Michelangelo houses the 4 sculptures, Atlas, Bearded Slave, Awakening Slave and Young Slave. The most famous hall in the Accademia, The Tribune houses the legendary ‘David’ by Michelangelo. Placed in the centre under a bright skylight, the halo-like dome is a spectacular sight capable of reducing the mightiest individuals to mere spectators.

Venture into the world of rhythm and music as you discover the surreal Grand Ducal Collection of over 50 musical instruments inside the Museum of Musical Instruments. Explore the collection of string, wind and harpsichord instruments on display including the piano by Bartolomeo Cristofori and the tenor viola by Antonio Stradivari.

What's not allowed

No bags and large backpacks, helmets, knives, scissors, or any hazardous objects will be allowed in the Gallery.
No food or drinks can be consumed inside the museum.
Shutterbugs, take note: Flash photography, stands, and tripods are a no-go inside the venue.

This experience is wheelchair and pram/stroller accessible as well as suitable for pregnant women.

Additional information

Kindly note that your tickets offer reserved entry into the gallery. However, there may be a wait at the ticket office across from the museum when you're exchanging your voucher for the physical ticket.
You will then have to gain entry at Priority Entrance for Reserved Ticket holders. You will still have to go through a security check.
Due to security reasons, the gallery can only accommodate a certain number of people at any given time so, if space allows, you may be moved to a slightly earlier or later time slot upon arrival.
Please buy any souvenirs before leaving the Gallery as you can’t re-enter the museum with the same ticket.
