Combo: Pena Palace + Moorish Castle Tickets

The visit to the castle wall was amazing! We took an Uber to the castle from where we stayed in Sintra. We got there around 11am and it was still fairly quiet. The full trip around the castle wall takes less than an hour. Easy walk in & overall great experience. If you wish to do the Pena Palace it is within walking distance from the castle. There is a hiking route of about 350m(less than 10min walk) from the castle to the Pena Palace gate.

We had managed to only get a spot for the Palace at 13h30. When we got there it was so busy & overwhelming that we didn't have a great time with the crows. We went Mid-May, I can only imagine what peak summer time must be like. We booked the ticket with the transport but the queue was so long to get the bus trip we ended up walking from the gate up & it was about a 500m walk (10-15min stroll) so unless you have difficulties walking, I wouldn't even bother with the transport busses to the top of the Pena Palace. We enjoyed more the park, it was peaceful, well kept and absolutely stunning!

Beautiful castle and scenery. Green space was very peaceful. Audio guide should have been included in an already high price for entry - left a bad feeling

We visited the interior of the Pena Palace. It was very interesting. We had booked tickets for 10:30 am so we arrived at 10 am at the iron gate and entered the palace at 10:30 am. The tour was self-guided, but we managed to understand the history of the palace thanks to the written explanations given in each room. We ended our visit with a tour of the exterior and gardens.

Ticketing was easy although it would be good to mention that if you get the combined Palace and garden ticket that you should see the gardens at least 2 hrs before your slotted time - our time was 4:30. The queue through the Palace was at snail pace however was still beautiful to see.

Ticketing experience was very easy! Audio guide for Quinta was a little confusing for directions but we loved exploring the grounds.

In my opinion the price viewing the interior of the Palace was too high, considering there wasn't thar much of interest to see and i had to move through them quickly. It would have been more helpful to to have an audio guide in the rooms.

The Pena Palace was well worth seeing and the park is also very impressive. We arrived 15 minutes before our timeslot as indicated. We didn't like the fact that we then had to wait in the blazing sun until a few minutes after the start, although there was a shady courtyard as a waiting area. I would also have liked to simply have the tickets all pdf instead of having to download an app onto my cell phone.

Beauty of the castle and surrounding gardens. What I didn't enjoy was the slowness of the constant lines of people and the number of times o had to present my ticket. That seemed unnecessary

The Palace is lovely. Lots of architecture and history. There does need to be better signage when walking up the trail. (Can be a bit confusing). Also the walk up is very hard and takes a good hour.

First. My cell phone had not been charged properly at night and the staff at the entrance of the venue could not help me to charge my phone and unload the tickets. I was helped by a bus driver. Secondly, the app only gave me the option to book at 17:30 when the venue was selling tickets for entry from 11 onwards. We had to wait a long time and we were the last ones and almost got kicked out.

I liked it all. Walking up the castles and views. The chapel and courtyard at Pena. I was a bit disappointed with Pena Palace because it was more money and there's not a lot more to see than any of the other palaces.

The outside of the castle is beautiful. Visiting it inside, not so much. I don't think it is right to charge for the transfer from the entrance to the castle. I recommend taking a tuk tuko cab for 5 eur per person to go see it from the train station. Bus 434 is expensive. 4.55 eur per person for a public bus.

It is a really nice palace. I especially loved the Medieval courtyard, the fabulous ceilings, and the sweeping views. I did not bring headphones. Not sure why they are not offered for a small fee. When we were just about to enter the palace one of the staff, an older lady with a dark pageboy hairstyle disappeared or was busy for about 10 minutes right at 1 pm, leaving the entire queue to stand in the hot sun even longer than they already had with no explanation. Finally she started scanning people in. If the problem was congestion from too many late 12:30 ticket holders, perhaps the number of tickets sold per timeslot needs to be adjusted. The previous week, with advance tickets we had visited Fontainebleau, Chambord, and Chemonceau palaces in France. There was no queuing and herding, real audioguides could be purchased, it was a much better experience.

Sintra is amazing! We had tickets booked for the Moorish Castle and Quinta da Regaleira. Received these through the mail. At both, check-in went without a hitch.

Estuve alli el sabado 03/05/2024 con 2 amigos, llovia mucho y habia atasco entre Lisboa-Sintra, llegamos 15 minutos tarde, preguntamos en la entrada al pasar las entradas y nos dijeron que a lo mejor nos podian dejar pasar ya que el dia estaba muy lluvioso y no habia demasiada gente en el lugar, al llegar arriba del Palacio da Pena la persona de seguridad que escaneaba las entradas nos nego la entrada (con un tono bastante de burla) viendo al siguiente grupo pasando por dentro del Palacio a pocos metros de nosotros nos negó la entrada...

Magnificent visit but for the interior the meeting point is not clear cz which almost made me miss the hour of visit. To go up the gps was wrong road. I had to call a tu. Along the road so I wouldn't be late. Then once inside, no instructions for the shuttle going up. I had to find everything on my own, I was lucky. Otherwise incredible experience in itself. Just a problem of organization.

We loved the palace . We did have an issue ordering the tickets. Can you please confirm we were only charged for 2? I had tried to order on a different card but was denied so used Shelly B card not Paula B. Please confirm Paula B was not charged as well. Regards Paula Brooks

Ticket booking was good. Saved a lot of time at attraction. We didn't realise we ought to have entered the inside at same time as we entered the park, but the staff we great for allowing us to cut in ahead of the later queue and get in quickly. Very good staff. My wife almost lost her scarf but a member of staff tracked her down and returned it.
