Prado Museum Guided Tours

Alex was a passionate and knowledgeable tour guide. He navigated a crazy busy/crowded environment well. The tour was with a small group which was refreshing.

Our guide was fantastic! Conducted the tour in both English and Spanish and was very engaging and passionate about the art he was guiding us through. And of course it's an amazing gallery!

Our guide was fabulous and gave us such a good overview of thee museum that when we continued on our own it was a better experience for having done the tour

Words are not enough to describe the excellent experience my wife and I had in visiting the Museo il Prado in Madrid, accompanied, guided, assisted and protected by the sympathy, empathy, preparation and politeness of Stefi the guide assigned to us who immersed us in the magical world of art in which the museum is rich. Not only explanations and quotations , but anecdotes, historical connections and critical views declined in a simple yet thorough way. The guide Stefi demonstrating preparation and communication skills as well as a pleasant sense of humor deepened the topics on which we were asking questions and turned our visit into a culturally enriching experience that we will not forget. Basically the guide Ofelia, is a charm. With detailed details of all the most important paintings. Very kind and considerate. To get out of the museum, it is explained in a very, very confusing way. It is obvious that someday you will go out.

An excellent tour, Rocio was a very informative guide, with energy and enthusiasm adding to her very evident knowledge of the pictures she shared with us - because of her expertise as an art historian. This was our first guided gallery tour; we visit many, but were worried about making sense of one as large as El Prado. I was slightly cynical about going with a tour beforehand - but was totally wrong to be so doubtful. It was great - and really added depth and understanding to the subject matter, composition and context of each picture, and the artists who had painted them. I highly recommend this tour.

I recommend to everyone a guided tour of the Prado. The collection of artwork is enormous, a first approach to the museum with a passionate, knowledgeable and kind guide like ours makes it easier to move around the exhibition.

Beyond the fact that I had the joy of visiting one of the most important museums in the world, I must highlight the guide Benito "Beni", his work was impressive. Truly an immense pleasure. The guide was informative and I learned so many interesting things which is what i was looking for. The tour was not rushed and I enoyed the group experience because it was less than 10 people.

Ticketing was easy and directions for meeting our guide were very clear. Loved our guide Neria who gave very informative and sophisticated commentary on the paintings we saw. Only problem was that she had a mixed language group and had to say everything in English and Spanish. The switching back and forth plus some static on the whisperers made it hard sometimes to catch what she was saying. I thought I paid for an English guided tour!

Guide hit the highlights of Prado. I would recommend a longer time with a guide. Our guide was with us just 1-1/2 hours. Once our guide left, we spent another 2 hours on our own. Wonderful museum! Only disapointment was Prado doesn't allow photography in the museum. I ended up buying the official guidebook which is available in many languages--worth the purchase for 19.50 euro.
